VARIOUS REASONS TO REJECT CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY
1) G-D is not man is stated in the Tanak (Jewish Bible) Three Times. Numbers 23.19, G-D is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: when He hath said, will He not do it? or when He hath spoken, will He not make it good? 1 Samuel 15:29, And also the Glory of Israel will not lie nor repent; for He is not a man, that He should repent.’ Hoshea 11.9 I will not execute the fierceness of Mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim; for I am G-D, and not man, the Holy One in the midst of thee; and I will not come in fury.
Jeremiah 23.24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the L-RD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the L-RD.
Psalms 139.8 If I ascend up into heaven, Thou art there; if I make my bed in the nether-world, behold, Thou art there.
Isaiah 66.1 Thus saith the L-RD: The heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool; where is the house that ye may build unto Me? And where is the place that may be My resting-place?
1 Kings 8.27 But will G-D in very truth dwell on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Thee; how much less this house that I have builded!
There is no place G-D is not; G-D is limitless, unbounded by time, space and motion! G-D does not change. Malachai 3.6
The trinity doctrine and the deification of a man cannot stand with it’s foundation on the Jewish Bible.
2) Judaism rejects the doctrine of bondage to a sin nature. The account of the encounter between God and Cain before Cain killed Abel dispells any notion of a sin nature that is passed on from parent to child. One can conquer sin and not give in to the evil inclination. Genesis 4.7 “If thou doest well, shall it not be lifted up? and if thou doest not well, sin coucheth at the door; and unto thee is its desire, but thou mayest rule over it.” Christianity, according to Romans 7.14-8.8, 5.18, 19 claims that we are born into sin and cannot escape our sin nature except through the vicarious atonement made by Jesus on the cross. This Gospel message has swayed millions of people and left them searching for forgiveness from sins they repeat over and over just as Paul claimed he was powerless to resist Romans 7.14-20. Genesis 4.7 clearly teaches otherwise, that we have power over sin which merely crouches at the door (because we have not done well). Since Adam could be humble (like dust) and return to G-D (Genesis 3.19) and live forever (3.22) (note that the ground was cursed for the sake of Adam but neither Adam and Eve were cursed with a sin nature and although the serpent was cursed, mankind was not) and if Cain can rule over sin before the advent of the Siccari [Jesus] being executed as a common criminal for sedition and since Ezekiel teaches that repentance is possible for the one who commits wickedness; then why would we need vicarious atonement to free us from bondage to a sin nature? The Christian doctrine of bondage to a sin nature is incompatible with the teachings of the Jewish Bible.
3) The Torah says that every man shall be punished for their own sin (the father shall not be punished for the sin of the son and the son shall not be punished for the sin of the father.) Deuteronomy 24:16, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers; every man shall be put to death for his own sin. Ezekiel 18:19, 32. Yet say ye: Why doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father with him? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all My statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live. The soul that sinneth, it shall die; the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father with him, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son with him; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. But if the wicked turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all My statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. None of his transgressions that he hath committed shall be remembered against him; for his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the L-RD G-D; and not rather that he should return from his ways, and live? But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? None of his righteous deeds that he hath done shall be remembered; for his trespass that he trespassed, and for his sin that he hath sinned, for them shall he die. Yet ye say: The way of the L-RD is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel: Is it My way that is not equal? is it not your ways that are unequal? When the righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall die therefor; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. Yet saith the house of Israel: The way of the L-RD is not equal. O house of Israel, is it My ways that are not equal? is it not your ways that are unequal? Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the L-RD G-D. Return ye, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so shall they not be a stumbling-block of iniquity unto you. Cast away from you all your transgressions, wherein ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the L-RD G-D; wherefore turn yourselves, and live.
Psalms 51.19 The sacrifices of G-D are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O G-D, Thou wilt not despise.
Hoshea 14.3 “Take with you words, and return unto the L-RD; say unto Him: ‘Forgive all iniquity, and accept that which is good; so will we render for bullocks the offering of our lips.”
Because G-D does not change and Christianity claims “the word became flesh” (John 1.14) to “become sin for us who knew no sin” (2 Corinthians 5:21) the Jewish Nation, Israel can not accept a “G-D” whose very nature changes from a pure limitless deity to a sinful human being.
That “change” would contradict the passuk Devarim (Deuteronomy) 32.4 “He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a G-D of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
Moreover, the Christian passuk, “he became sin for us” is in direct contradiction to Devarim (Deuteronomy) 32.4 “a G-D of truth and without iniquity,” – Without iniquity means he could not become sin as that would mean there is a change in the nature of G-D and thus be in contradiction to Malachi 3.6!
Trinitarians claim that Jesus is co-equal with G-D.
But according to the Christian scriptures 1 Corinthians 15.28, Jesus can’t be eternally “co-equal” with G-D because, by the plain sense of that verse, Jesus will subject himself to G-D and G-D cannot be subjected to anything; (G-D does not change and is not in submission to anything as it is written, “For I the L-RD change not; and ye, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.” Malachi 3.6) and so logically deduced from the Christian scripture, Jesus can’t be G-D! and can’t be eternally “co-equal” with G-D. Furthermore, a contradiction arises as it is written, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever.” Hebrews 13.8 If Jesus is the same forever, then how can he eventually subject himself to G-D? And thus we rely upon the Jewish maxim, [that] “there is no contradiction in the truth.”
G-D does not change. Plain and simple. That is what the Prophet Malachi said. Yet according to 1 Corinthians 15.28, Jesus will be subjected to G-D. If they are co-equal and eternally the same then they cannot, according to Malachi, ever change. How could G-D be in submission to G-D? That is a contradiction in terms and there is no contradiction in the truth!
The operative word in the Greek text is hupotasso. The hupo means “under” and the tasso means “to arrange.” This word and a root of it are also translated by the words subject and subjection. The word’s full meaning is “to obey, put under, be subject to, submit oneself unto, put in subjection under or be under obedience or obedient to.” The word was used as a military term meaning “to arrange troop divisions in a military fashion under the command of a leader.” Here, Paul uses a MILITARY term to qualify who shall be in subjection to Whom! This is like the disciples of Jesus who asked, “Lord (not L-RD Adonai, but Adonee – my Lord – as in a UK member of the House of Lords – as in liege [feudal] Lord) wilt thou restore the Kingdom to Israel at this time?” Clearly, as in 1 Corinthians 15.28, a distinction is being made in Acts 1.6 between Adonai and Adonee The SUPREME BEING and a feudal Lord on earth!
MOREOVER, the Holy One rejects “human sacrifice,” which we can derive from Genesis 22: “And he said: ‘Lay not thy hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him;….”
The key to repentance, t’shuvah, returning to G-D is in man’s hand. Vicarious atonement cannot be reconciled with the Torah, Psalms 51 or the Prophets Ezekiel and Hoshea!
4) The Torah says not to follow a false prophet. Deuteronomy 13. If there arise in the midst of thee a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams–and he give thee a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spoke unto thee–saying: ‘Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them’; thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or unto that dreamer of dreams; for the L-RD your G-D putteth you to proof, to know whether ye do love the L-RD your G-D with all your heart and with all your soul.
Jesus prophesied that he would physically return within the lifetime of his disciples to establish the kingdom of G-D on Earth. Matthew 16:28, “Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who shall not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.” Luke 9:27 But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of G-D.
The son of man is Ezekiel (as Ezekiel 29.1-2 emphatically states) although Yeshki (Jesus) appropriated the title to himself when he falsely claimed to be the son of man who would come in his kingdom and said (Matthew 11.19, Luke 7.34) the Pharisees accused him of being a wine-bibber and glutton! Daniel 7 also makes a reference to one like the son of man….
Since Acts 1.6-7 demonstrates that the Kingdom was NOT restored to Israel, as Yeshki (Jesus) had prophesied in Matthew 16.28 and Luke 9:27; we apply Devarim (Deuteronomy) 13 to the false prophesy and classify Yeshki (Jesus) as a nevi sheker (a false prophet) worthy of death!!!
Moreover, every matter of false prophesy has to be established by two or three witnesses. Here, Matthew, Luke and Acts are witnesses AGAINST Jesus and establish his false prophesy three times!
Because, according to Christian Theology, Jesus falsely prophesied his physical return to establish the kingdom on earth, Christianity follows a false prophet.
The above doctrine of vicarious atonement (Christ died for all….) falls into the category of false prophesy and cannot be reconciled with the Jewish Bible. One must accept that G-D, the Creator of all created beings is without beginning and end and cannot cease to exist. That is, G-D cannot die. Christianity teaches that Jesus was both fully G-D and Man and died a physical death to atone for the sins of the world and would return within the lifetime of his disciples to establish his Kingdom on Earth. Since the Creator has no beginning or end, and Jesus admittedly died, the Christian teaching of vicarious atonement or death of G-D in the flesh to Atone for the sins of the world is contrary to what we understand of the nature of the Creator, (Malachai 3.6 “I change not….”); one must reject false prophesy. Isaiah 44.6 “Thus saith the L-RD, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer the L-RD of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last, and beside Me there is no G-D.” 44.24 “I am the L-RD, that maketh all things; that stretched forth the heavens alone; that spread abroad the earth by Myself.” The attribute of Creator is not shared with any other being even as the attribute of “Endless One” is not shared with any one else. It is a grave error to ascribe divinity to humanity and claim the Creator died to atone for the sins of the world. (Colossians 1:16) The nature of the Creator demonstrates that there can be no series of infinite causes from which creation sprang about. The advent of creation demonstrates the Sovereignty of the Creator Who Spoke and the World came into being. (Barooch She’amar v’hayah ha’olam…. Blessed is He Who Spoke and the World Came Into Being. The power of creative speech, ex nihilo, “something from nothing,” the first cause of creation differentiates between the Creator and the Created. That power is the power and law which alone with the Will of the Creator binds creation together keeping it from returning tohu va’vohu into an emptiness and void place of darkness, Genesis 1.2) The advent of Christianity is merely a test by the Holy One to see if the Jewish people “love G-D with all your heart and with all your soul.”
5) Genesis states in two places that Jacob is buried in Machpelah. Genesis 49:29-30 And he charged them, and said unto them: ‘I am to be gathered unto my people; bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite, in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a burying-place. Genesis 50:1-13 For his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field, for a possession of a burying-place, of Ephron the Hittite, in front of Mamre.
6) Joshua 24:32 states that Joseph is buried in Shechem.
And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in the parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for a hundred pieces of money; and they became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.
The Christian Scriptures Acts 7:16-17 states Joseph is buried in Machpelah. Acts states that Abraham bought the tomb in Shechem. Genesis states it was Jacob who did the buying (Genesis 23:16-18; 33:18-19; 50:13; Joshua 24:32. The Christian account of the buying of the burial place of Joseph and the account of where Joseph is buried cannot be reconsiled with the Tanak (Jewish Bible).
7) Genesis, Exodus and Deuteronomy states that seventy souls descended down into Egypt. Exodus 1:5 The descendants of Jacob numbered seventy in all; Joseph was already in Egypt.
Genesis 46:26-27 All those who went to Egypt with Jacob – those who were his direct descendants, not counting his sons’ wives – numbered sixty-six persons. 27 With the two sons who had been born to Joseph in Egypt, the members of Jacob’s family, which went to Egypt, were seventy in all.
Deuteronomy10:22 Your forefathers who went down into Egypt were seventy in all, and now the L-RD your G-D has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.
Acts states that Seventy Five souls went down into Egypt. Acts 7:14 After this, Joseph sent for his father Jacob and his whole family, seventy-five in all. The Christian Scriptures account for how many souls descended into Egypt cannot be reconciled with the Torah.
Question: “What is the curse of Jechoniah?”
Answer: Jechoniah, also called “Jehoachin” (1 Chronicles 3.16) and “Coniah” (Jeremiah 22.24), was a king of Judah who was deported as part of the Babylonian captivity (Esther 2.6, 1 Chronicles 3.17). He is also listed in the genealogy of Jesus, in Joseph’s family line. (Matthew 1.12)
The curse of Jechoniah is found in Jeremiah 22. First, the L-RD likens the king to a signet ring on God’s hand—a ring that G-D will pull off (verse 24). Then, G-D pronounces a curse: “Record this man as if childless, a man who will not prosper in his lifetime, for none of his offspring will prosper, none will sit on the throne of David or rule anymore in Judah” (verse 30).
The problem is that the curse of Jechoniah seems to invalidate Jesus’ right to the throne of David. The Covenant HaShem made with the House of David promised that Moshiach (the Messiah), the “Son of David,” would reign forever on Jerusalem’s throne (1 Chronicles 17.11-14). If Jesus is a descendant of Jechoniah, then how can he be the Moshiach, since the curse bars any of Jechoniah’s descendants from assuming David’s throne?
There are three possible Christian solutions to this difficulty. First, the “offspring” of Jechoniah mentioned in the curse could be a limited reference to the king’s own children—his immediate offspring, in other words. On a related note, the phrase “in his lifetime” could apply to the entire verse. The curse would only be in force while the king lived. This is exactly what happened, as Jechoniah was not successful as a king (he only reigned for three months before he surrendered to Nebuchadnezzar’s forces), and none of his sons (he had seven of them, 1 Chronicles 3.17-18) reigned over Judah.
A second Christian solution concerns the doctrine of the virgin birth. According to Catholic Christian theology Jesus only had one human parent, Mary. His mother was of David’s line, but not through Jechoniah. Joseph was Jesus’ legal father, but not his physical one. Thus, Jesus was of royal blood through Mary, but the curse of Jechoniah stopped with Joseph and was not passed on to Jesus.
A third possible solution is that God reversed the curse on Jechoniah’s family. This is hinted at by the prophet Haggai, who told Zerubbabel, Jechoniah’s grandson, that God would make him a “signet ring” on God’s hand (Haggai 2.23). Zerubbabel was blessed by God as the governor of Judea, and he prospered in that role when the Jewish exiles returned to Jerusalem. The “signet ring” imagery of Jechoniah’s curse is repeated in Zerubbabel’s blessing, which must be more than coincidence. Several rabbinic sources teach that Jechoniah repented in Babylon and that God forgave him and lifted the curse.
These “solutions” do not find merit because the Tanak (Jewish Bible) says that the Moshiach (Messiah) must descend from King David through King Shlomo (Solomon). Jesus had Natan (Luke 3.31) as an ancestor not Solomon and therefore he does not have the correct genealogy. Tracing Jesus’ genealogy through Mary is problematic because Tribal Inheritance only comes through the father and Luke 2.48 says that Jesus’ father is Joseph which leaves Jechoniah’s curse as his tribal allotment. Since Luke 2.48 clearly says Jesus’ father was Joseph and the Ebionites believed Jesus was born of natural generation by Joseph and Mary, Catholics have a problem – his genealogy still lists both Natan and Jechoniah as his ancestors. The third solution is problematic to Christian theology because if Jechoniah repented and was forgiven “without sacrifice” (Ezekiel 18) then there is no need for the doctrine of vicarious atonement (Devarim – Deuteronomy 24.16).
Paul’s Additions To and Taking Away From the Tanak
Paul says in Galatians 2.21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” (KJV) He says, (essentially) that it is impossible to please G-D by observing the Torah. (Hebrews 11.6) And in Romans 10.8 we find an addition to the Torah (which, as shown below is prohibited by the Torah) in an attempt to persuade people to believe in Jesus: “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;….”
Yet, we find in Devarim (Deuteronomy) 30.14 (which Paul partially quotes), “No, the word is very close to you, in your mouth and in your heart, to observe it.” This word, say Isaiah 59.20-21 shall not be removed from the mouth of Yisrael. It says there: “And a redeemer will come to Zion, And unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, Saith the L-RD. And as for Me, this is My covenant with them, saith the L-RD; My spirit that is upon thee, and My words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the L-RD, from henceforth and for ever.
Yet Paul in Romans says (while changing the wording by adding to and taking away from Isaiah 59.20), “The Deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godliness away from Jacob.” The Christian Scriptures violate Devarim 4.2 (Deuteronomy) which says, “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the L-RD your G-D which I command you.” see also:
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
