Ha’Adamah

Ha’Adamah, as opposed to Ha’Aretz (The Ground, or Place Creation of Man [Adam] and the Place of Sacrifices, B’rashith (Genesis) 8.20-21; 22.9 and 1 King’s Chapter 8 ) is specifically connected to the most far reaching sacrifice(s) and prayer mankind ever made: King Shlomo prayed “[…] hear from Heaven [….] forgive Thy people Israel [….] and do that which the stranger [foreigner ha’Nochri] asks of Thee [….];” and fire came down from heaven and consumed the sacrifices 2 Chronicles 7.1 – The Ground – Ha’Adamah is the Place HaShem has chosen (Devarim [Deuteronomy] 12.5-14: And see 2 Chronicles 7.16 “For now have I chosen and hallowed this house, that My name may be there for ever; and Mine eyes and My heart shall be there perpetually.” Melech Shlomo specifically recognized the place as specially connected to Teshuva (Return to HaShem) 1 King’s 8.34 and to Simcha v’Sasson… (“On the eighth day he sent the people away, and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had shown unto David His servant, and to Israel His people.”) as prophesied by Moshe – Devarim [Deuteronomy] 12.7 & 12 and as previously stated, it is the specific place RECOGNIZED by Melech Shlomo as a place of JOY and REJOICING; as well as a place of prostration and humility (“afar” – dust is a symbol of humility. B’rashith 3.19 Without being humble one cannot approach HaShem. We eat UNLEAVENED bread [Matzah] at Pesach [Passover] because we have symbolically removed the PRIDE [Chometz leaven] from our lives! In essence, every human being has the potential to make teshuva [become humble “afar”] and to partake of Pesach as it is said, “Let Him who is hungry come and eat….” Pesach Hagaddah

  1. Since the Torah isolates “Kol pri ha’Adamah,” The First-Fruits of Tzion “belongs” to HaShem, in order that everyone shall REJOICE: Devarim 26.2 “that thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the ground (haAdamah), which thou shalt bring in from thy land (haAretz) that the L-RD thy G-D giveth thee; and thou shalt put it in a basket and shalt go unto the place which the L-RD thy G-D shall choose to cause His name to dwell there.” Devarim 26.11 “And thou shalt rejoice in all the good which the L-RD thy G-D hath given unto thee, and unto thy house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is in the midst of thee.”
